Pamela Sayers, of Rio Rancho, passed to the other side on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012. Just as she strongly believed and promised, her spirit remains with us. Pamela suffered very silently with the serious, life changing and debilitating illness that is diabetes. Pamela was born June 19, 1955, to Don and Gay Sayers in Townsend, Mont.
Don and Gay preceded her in death, as did her precious daughter-in-law, Carolyn Thurman Rustvold.
Pamela graduated from Butte High School in 1973, and Montana Tech in 1994, with a degree in Computer Science. She was employed by Intel of Rio Rancho, as a safety and health manager. Keeping people safe was of utmost importance to her and she kept all of us in compliance.
Pamela is survived by her ex-husband and friend, Shaun Rustvold of Butte, Mont.; sons, Stephen Rustvold of Ithaca, N.Y., Leif Rustvold of Rio Rancho, and Dylan Rustvold of Albuquerque; the joys of her life, Rohen and Layla Rustvold and their mom, Antoinette, along with Pamela's dearest friend, Marita Guldro from Butte.
Pamela's siblings are Don Sayers and wife, Susan, David Sayers and wife, Sue, Gaylene Sayers Hudgins all of Butte, and Candace Sayers Kendrick and husband, Kenny, of Farmington. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts will miss Aunt Pam's beautiful smile and playful ways.
Pamela was a very unique person that few were lucky enough to know as she was a private person. She was willing to speak her mind if you dared to listen.
We all regret that she will not be present in body to witness her son, Stephen, graduate with high honors from Cornell Law School, or her son, Dylan, graduate from the University of New Mexico. We are grateful she was able to see her son, Leif, graduate from Montana Tech.
Pamela valued education and was a real advocate for her sons in all ways. We will miss her so much and wish her peace.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place later this spring.
