MELANIE K. (GARWOOD) JACOMET
TROY — Melanie K. (Garwood) Jacomet, 73, of Troy, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at her residence. She was born on Dec. 13, 1940, in Troy, to the late Myron C. and Virginia (Long) Garwood.
Melanie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ralph "Skip" Jacomet; her sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Terri Jacomet of Troy; Michael and Katy Jacomet of Piqua; daughter, Lisa Hall of Piqua; half-sister, Anita Burton of Troy; eight grandchildren, Troy (fiance Kara Amend) Jacomet, Andrew Jacomet, Lauren (Tim) Habedank, Cassidy (Jake) Shaw Knoop, Kyle Shaw, Anna Jacomet, Sophia Jacomet, and Ava Jacomet; and one great-grandchild, Kylie Habedank.
In addition to her parents, Melanie was preceded in death by her sister, Marla Garwood and two infant sons.
Melanie was a member of the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Troy. She was retired after many years of service with the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Her special interests were her children, grandchildren, and flowers.
Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with the Rev. Ed Ellis and the Rev. Fr. James Duell officiating. Interment will follow the service in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Melanie's name be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, OH 45373.
