Oscar Alcaraz Obituary
Oscar A. Alcaraz, of Woodland, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the age of 28. He was born on Sept. 13, 1988, to Oscar Alcaraz Sr. and Cindy Newell. Oscar enjoyed spending time outdoors riding bulls, horseback riding, camping and fishing. He also spent time working with Cal Trans fighting fires.
Oscar is survived by his mother, Cindy Newell; father, Oscar Alcaraz; siblings, Steven Alcaraz, Christopher Vidales, Omar Alcaraz, Hector Alcaraz, Lorena Alcaraz, Oscar E. Alcaraz, Maritzabel Alcaraz, Javier Gonzales, Charrise Torres, Danielle Vidales, and Roxanne Vidales; maternal grandparents, Bernie Newell, and Barbara Hunt (nana) and David Hunt (pops); paternal grandparents, Tomas (Ito) and Alicia (Ita) Alcaraz; step-dad, Salvador Vidales; step-mom, Renee Calderon; step-mom, Jeannie Vargas; nine nephews and two nieces; fiance, Corinna Perez; along with several aunts, uncles, and great aunts and uncles; and many loved ones.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, March 17, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St. Reception will follow at the Parish Hall. Inurnment will take place at Woodland Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oscar Alcaraz Memorial Fund at Yolo Federal C.U.

Happy New Year my handsome son. I sit here and think back to a year ago on this night we were talking and oh so blessed we we're together. Tonight I have sat and thought about my blessings of having you my first baby, my flaco. I love you and miss so much mijo. I believe/know we will be together again some day. Oscar showed his bravery honesty and incredible loving heart the moment we met. His smile and enthusiasm for life was contagious. Although he is no longer here physically his memory will remain in our hearts forever. To his parents and loved ones I offer my heart felt condolences he will be missed but his memory will not fade.
