Arthur R. Kubicek TOWN OF USLTER-Arthur R. Kubicek, 92, formerly of Bloomington, N.Y. died at TenBroeck Commons Nursing Home on Wednesday Aug. 19, 2015. Born in Kingston, N.Y. March 18, 1923 a son of the late Rudolph and Emma (Menzel) Kubicek. A veteran of World War II, Arthur served with pride in The United States Army Air Corp. He participated in campaigns in Bismarch-Archipelago, Luzon: New Guinea and received The Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and American Defense Service Medal. He was discharged honorably in Oct. of 1945. Mr. Kubicek was employed by IBM Kingston New York retiring from The Laboratory. A member of The IBM Quarter Century Club, No Can Do Bowling League, and Past Commander of American Legion Post 1298 Town of Esopus. He is survived by his son Lawrence Kubicek and his wife Sue of Bloomington. Three grandchildren, Elliot Kubicek, of Kingston, Jan-Marie Frey of Austin, Texas, and Lisa Besze of Kingston. Three great-grandchildren and nephews; Bobby and Andy Dykes of California, Shawn, Hans and Willie Schultz North Carolina of also survive. His wife Carrol (Cable) Kubicek died in 1994. Two sisters; Marie Kennedy died Aug. 5th of this year, and Elsie Dykes also predeceased him. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston, N.Y. www.jvleahyfh.com Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. American Legion Post 1298 will conduct a ritual at 6:30 p.m. A funeral procession will form Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Peters Church Rosendale at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors in Saint Peters Cemetery Rosendale.
