Jeanne Donovan Obituary

Jeanne Lucile Donovan of Elgin Memorial services for Jeanne Lucile Donovan, 68, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, 783 W. Highland Ave., Elgin, with the Rev. Don Shank officiating. Born Feb. 17, 1933, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Vera (nee Whims) Donovan, she passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Burial will be private. Jeanne received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Akron and her master's in religious education (M.R.E.) from Bethany Seminary. She had been employed by the General Offices of The Brethren Press, Gibson Guitars and Lee Wards before retiring. Jeanne was a gifted writer of poetry and a member of Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren. Survivors include her brother Robert Donovan of Belmont, Calif. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Harry and Richard Donovan. Memorials may be given to the church. Arrangements were made by Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
