ANDREW T. WEILER

1928 - 2016

PROSPECT HEIGHTS - Andrew T. Weiler was born on January 21, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Andrew and Catherine (nee Stumps) Weiler. He died Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Andrew worked as an Accountant for Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years. His passion was oil painting and he could spend up to 6 hours a day enjoying that hobby. He created over 600 paintings in his lifetime and also enjoyed selling many of them at local art fairs. He was very proud to receive a thank you note from Mother Theresa after he sent her prints of his Head of Christ painting, and it was seen hanging in Calcutta. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during 1946 as a Seaman 2nd Class. Andrew is survived by his children, Mark (Leslie Ann) Weiler, Jamie Lynn (Steve) Proebstle and Kurt R. (LaRae) Weiler; his grandsons, Eric (Terra) Weiler and Mike (Elizabeth) Weiler. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Angeline (nee Catalano) Weiler and his brother, John Weiler. Memorial Visitation from 9:00 am until time of Memorial Mass at 10:00 am, Monday, May 23, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 S. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942.
