Gene Beebe Obituary

Gene Kenneth Beebe of Downingtown Gene Kenneth Beebe, 74, of Downingtown, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Paoli Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Craig Beebe, with whom he had shared 52 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2010. Born in Chincoteague, Va., he was the son of the late Philip Carl and Myrtle Bennum Beebe. Mr. Beebe was a lifetime estimator for Ryerson Steel of Philadelphia. In his younger years, he played high school baseball. An avid Phillies fan, he also enjoyed building and racing dragsters. He is survived by his daughters, Maryann Broderick and Donna M. Muratore, both of Naples, Fla., Bethann Paz of Philadelphia, and Tracie Beebe-Ng of Downingtown. He is also survived by his brothers, Philip C., Jr. of Narberth and Donald H. of Concordville; and by 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 125 S. 9th Street, Suite 202, Philadelphia, PA 19107 www.jamesterryfuneralhome.com.
