I am ever thankful that i got the time to spend the day with my Father and sisters Beverly and Bette at Chester county hospital.
I arrived at the hospital about 11:00 pm and went directly to his room, there he was sleeping i said to my sister Beverly lets not wake him but she said yes so he can know you are here, i had come from Vallejo, Ca. and went to him on arrival, it was COOOLD but i was there to see my Dad, that was Wed. Feb.11,2015, on Thursday morning we went back to the hospital together the three of us we had a Beautiful time with our Father but he kept informing us that he would be leaving soon as he was ready to go, he told his eldest grand son Michael who lives in Calif that he couldn't wait until he got there on Saturday he had to go. His eldest great grand daughter was in the room with us and could not believe her great grand father was so full of jokes and laughter he even let the nurses know he was ready to leave, he also let each of us his daughters know where and when they were conceived much laughter and fun, we left the room to go eat and get his other grandson Mark Chambers who was arriving from Ca. that night (Thursday), we saw him again at the hospice room that evening but he never opened his eyes again, we kissed snd said good night, Went to Beverly's house to get some rest and about 4:45 am the phone rang it was Friday Feb. 13, 2925 and the hospital was calling to say that he had died and we could come.
I feel so blessed to have had that time with my Father and i had the opportunity to visit yearly, he was the Beat you could ask for and he gave us the best we could ask for. He told me some wise words and i passed them to my children "no one owes you anything if you want something than you work and earn it".

Although I haven't seen Lion Ernie for many a year, I always thought of him as a very upbeat and positive thinking individual. I enjoyed being in his company and I'm very sorry to read of his passing. One more soul this world really needed.
