Bruce WEST Obituary
Bruce was a graduate of the University of Buffalo. A man of deep conviction and personal faith in Christ, Bruce dedicated his life to service of Christ and others. He worked for Campus Crusade for Christ at The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg. He later served in the Military Ministries of Campus Crusade based in Newport News, Va.
In August 2010, he entered the chaplaincy of the U.S. Navy and was subsequently assigned to Iwakuni, Japan. Proudly serving his country, he was excited about this new venture.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 17 years, Maryann; three children, Benjamin, Joanna and Jonathon; his parents, Bruce and Sandra West, of East Aurora, N.Y.; his grandparents, Harlon and Betty Jean Ricketson; and five siblings, David West (Christina), Richard West, Tracey Gray (Christopher), Sarah West and Jessica West.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Williamsburg Community Chapel, 3899 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, Va. A service will begin at 4 p.m. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at 9 a.m. Monday, June 20.

I was the United Methodist campus minister at the Wesley Foundation at W&M and was always grateful for Bruce's friendship, deep faith, commitment to students and to sharing his joy in Christ. I am stunned and deeply grieved at the news of his unexpected death, and pray his family, especially Maryann and the children know even now the peace of Christ and the hope we have in him.
