James Simmerman Obituary

WINDSOR - James Robert Simmerman, 80, passed away April 10, 2015. He was born in Smyth County, VA the son of Myrtle H. Simmerman and the late Joseph R. Simmerman. James was a United States Army veteran. He later went on to own and operate his own painting and auto body works company. He was a member of Maranatha Southern Baptist Church in Windsor, VA. Including his mother, James is survived by his wife, Barbara G. Simmerman; children and their spouses, Debra Thomas (Danny), Lynn Simmerman, and Robbie Simmerman (Yelan); 9 stepchildren; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Bill Simmerman (Mildred); caregiver, Yvette King. Friends may join the family for a visitation, Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Maranatha Southern Baptist Church, Windsor, VA with Revs. Clyde Alderman and Tim Rawls officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department and Windsor Rescue Squad. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
