I prayed for Kendell today in St Salvator's College Chapel, University of Saint Andrews and informed those there who remember him so fondly. Happy memories of St Mary's College and later visits to Kensington London etc - and prayers that we may be united with him again, with Michael, and so many friends 'merrily on high'. Enter into the joy of Our Lord. Michael Thompson, Deacon, Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham.

How many times did I get to harass you about Kendal helping you set up your classroom? He was a gentle soul who delighted in you being picked on! My heart goes out to you. Love you, Shirley

Early in my ministry on Smith Island in the Pen-Del Conference I journeyed to United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio to visit with a former pastor of mine, Ed Zeiders. When I was about to leave an administrative assistant introduced me to Kendall, the dean at the time. On his office wall was a photo of the first church he served, the one I was serving then in Ewell on Smith Island. We quickly got acquainted and visited several times over the years. A fine fellow and wonderful example of being a Christian as teacher, minister, and friend.

To Kendall, a meek and potent gentleman, who loved Christ and His Church, and who knew how to eat, drink, and be merry among his fellow mankind. My life is richer for having known and dined with him many a time. Dearest Michael, may God grant you grace and peace during this time. Blessed in the eyes of our Lord is the death of his saints, to whom I attribute Kendall as one.

We are so sorry to hear of Kendall's passing. He was a brilliant, kind, compassionate teacher; his sermons were breathtaking; and his sense of humor..."rapier wit" doesn't begin to describe. The world is definitely smaller without his presence in it.
Our hearts grieve with thee.
