News Death Notice

BOOKWALTER, John Harry age 62 of West Milton, OH, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at his home. John was born July 20, 1946 in Dayton, son of Vera (Lefeld) Bollheimer. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1963-1967. John was a Master Chainsaw Artist. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Mr. Bookwalter is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria (Jones); 5 children, Collin (Becca) Poock, Aaron Bookwalter, Andrea (Shawn) Levi, Chandra Bookwalter and Jordan Adkins; granddaughter, Amelia Poock; 2 brothers, Tom (Sarah) Bookwalter and Bob (Diane) Bookwalter; 4 sisters, Betty Rudy, Kathy Ledford, Frankie (Jim) Pyburn and Mary Adams; many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 972 S. Miami St., West Milton, OH 45383, Fr. John McQuarrie and Fr. Charles Caserta co-celebrants. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or to the American Cancer Society, in John's memory. I am so sorry for your loss. John was a friend of my brother George who passed away this past year. I always remember John with a great sense of humor and wit. I can recall 30 years ago, when he did a skit at the Jammer every week entitled "Willy the Wimp, the Downtown Pimp. May God rest his Soul.
