Jeannine Bleicher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 6, 2019.
Shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday, Jeannine Irene Hoenshell Bleicher passed way peacefully in her home in Prescott, Arizona, surrounded by family on June 28, 2019. Born on June 22, 1929, Jeannine was the oldest of three siblings. She graduated from San Bernardino High School and enjoy spending time with her younger sister, Janet, and brother, George. Jeannine lived a full life as a wonderful mother to Dennis, Craig, Bruce, Laurie, Nancy, Sue and Robert (Rob). She raised her family in the Phoenix area and worked at AMTA (Arizona Motor Transportation Association) until her retirement. She was an adventurer who traveled whenever she could. She loved to share stories of her travels, whether she was catching giant salmon with her brother, George, in Alaska or jet setting with friends to Australia and Europe. Most of all she loved sharing memories of cherished times with her children or gushing over a gymnastics competition or spelling bee a grandchild won.

A highly skilled crafter, Jeannine spent her retirement creating. She was always in the clay studio, beading, or making quilts to donate to local adoption services and homeless shelters. Her hands were rarely still; she spent the whole year making handmade gifts for all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, acquaintances and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She never went anywhere without a handmade hostess gift.

She was a devoted Grandmother "Nana" and Great-Grandmother "GiGi", who made a special gift or blanket for every little one brought into our family. As our family's matriarch, she instilled the importance of family, friendships and living life to the fullest. Most important of all, she taught us how to give back to others in our community. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A celebration of Jeanine's life will be held on July 14 at 1:30 p.m., at United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., Prescott, Arizona 86301. Family and Friends will then gather at the Jersey Lilly to celebrate and share memories of her amazing life from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church's Open Door food cupboard in Jeannine's honor. In her perfect world, no one would ever go hungry; she volunteered and donated food as often as she could. She also spent hours making bowls to donate to the Empty Bowl Soup Fundraiser. Thank you for helping us continue her legacy by donating to something close to her heart.
