Sandra Freedman Obituary
Born in Brooklyn, NY to Philip and Ellen Zupinsky, Sandy passed away May 13, 2015 at home. Extraordinarily kind and caring, she was celebrated for her kitchen mastery but most reknowned for her signature cookies. "Nana" tirelessly baked for those she loved most, preparing hundreds of expressly requested treats for each grandchild's B'nai Mitzvah. Sandy was skillful at knitting and crocheting; many were the recipients of her wonderful creations. A devoted wife to her huband Louis for nearly 57 years, they enjoyed playing tennis together with friends for years.
Predeceased by her sister Delores, Sandy is survived by her loving husband Louis, adored children Scott (Wendy) of Lafayette Hill, PA, Deborah Hershman (Douglas) of Wilmington and Robert (Diane) of Clarksville, MD and her eight cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Gregory, Jacob, Benjamin, Ariel, Julianne, Emily and Janie all of whom called her "Nana".
Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, May 15, 2015 at Jewish Community Cemetery, 401 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE. Contributions would be appreciated to Delaware Hospice or the charity of your choice.
