Henry Edgar Kressman

Hockessin - Age 92, of Hockessin died Monday, January 21, at Cokesbury Village Retirement Community.

The Easton, PA, native served in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1946. He graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1949, where he majored in industrial relations. He held a variety of positions in government, industry and labor.

He retired from his position as manager of labor relations at ICI Americas, Inc., in Wilmington, where he worked from 1954-1985. Kressman also held a variety of positions in government, industry and labor including chair, Delaware Governor's Labor Advisory Council; member of the Delaware Public Employment Relations Board; Hearing Officer, New Castle County and Fraternal Order of Police and Regional Manager, American Arbitration Association.

Kressman served on the board of trustees, New Castle Presbyterian Church; personnel committee, New Castle Presbytery; President, Historic New Castle Visitors' Bureau; co-owner with his wife, Annabelle Kressman, of the Janvier-Black House Bed & Breakfast in New Castle, and tutor, Community Progressive Club, New Castle.

Hank is survived by his devoted wife, Annabelle Kressman, his daughter, Kathryn, and grandson Michael. His daughter, Nancy Jane Kressman, predeceased him. Also surviving are his step-children: J.D. Tuthill and his wife Assunta Sera and daughter Elizabeth; Jessie Rose; Robert C. Tuthill and his children Robert and Keena; and Daphne Tuthill and her wife Carol Meyer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at First and Central Presbyterian Church, 1101 N. Market St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
