Kathleen Ann Dolbow, age 60, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017.

Kathleen was born in Pennsylvania on April 6, 1956, and was the daughter of Paul J. and Margaret (Smeck) Sullivan. She made her career as a radiology nurse and worked for a number of years at the Newark Emergency Department.

Kathleen was a talented writer who enjoyed creating original poetry. She loved the beach, music and especially dancing. In her leisure time, Kathleen looked forward to trips to Delaware Park, bowling and spending time with her loving family. She will be remembered for her fantastic sense of humor and her unique ability to make anyone laugh.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her father, Paul and brother, Dennis Sullivan. She is survived by her mother, Margaret of Bear; daughter, Melissa A. Wells and companion, William Allmond of Newark; son, John C. Dolbow III of Bear; fiancé, Scott Carson; brothers, Steven Sullivan (Darlece) of Wilmington and Mark Sullivan of Newark; her loving and loyal service dog, Riley Rose; other extended family members; and grandchildren, Eric Wells, Jr., Jayden Wells and Zane Wells.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 Noon until 1 pm on Monday afternoon, February 13, 2017 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE where a celebration of life will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Ave., Wilmington, DE 19805. Kathleen often said, "Laugh through your tears." and in keeping with her positive outlook, the family requests that you wear bright colors to her service.
