Helen Ciuffetelli Obituary

Helen "Nonna" (Dorazio) Ciuffetelli

Passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was 81 years old.

Helen was a 1950 graduate of Kennett High School. She was a loyal and dedicated member of Corpus Christi R. C. Church where she served as the Prefect of B.V.M. Sodality and also was an Eucharist Minister.

She worked for many years for the Diamond State Telephone Co. She later owned and operated a beauty salon at her home until 1975. For 25 years Helen worked for the Biden family as a housekeeper and nanny.

Daughter of the late Domenico and Domenica Dorazio. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Angelo "Charlie" Ciuffetelli; sister, Rose Amalfitano; and brothers, James and Dominick Dorazio. She is survived by her daughter, Angela DelCoglin; her son-in-law, Nate; her granddaughter, Sabrina; and brothers, Fred and Michael Dorazio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R. C. Church, 501 New Rd., Elsmere on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:30 am Saturday morning. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark.

Donations may be made in her memory to Corpus Christi R. C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere, DE 19805.

Angela, I am very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. When I think of Helen, I remember her warm hugs, quick smile, and her willingness to help anyone in need. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Your Mom was a very special lady and such a giving person. She was always there to lend a hand to anyone and everyone. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
