Norman Passmore Obituary

Norman S. Passmore

Lewes - Norman Passmore passed away on May 9, 2018 in Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware. Norman grew up on a farm in southern Pennsylvania. He was an exceptional math student at Westtown Friends School and went on to graduate from Swarthmore College. He received his Masters and Doctoral degree from the University of Delaware. He briefly taught math at the Tatnall School in northern Delaware and completed his career teaching math at the University of Delaware, Southern Extension, in Georgetown, Delaware.

He is survived by a sister, Ruth P. Thomson, a brother-in-law, Roger Thomson, and a nephew, Roger Thomson, Jr.

He loved playing the cello and earlier in his life enjoyed running and skiing. Norman will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Burial and service will be private.

norm was one of the finest, most honest people I ever met. humble and decent. we were friends for our 3 years at westtown, roommates for 2. I will miss him a lot, and I think of him often.

Norman attended London Grove Friends Meeting whenever his schedule permitted him to make the trip to PA. He participated in many of the Meeting's activities including the Burial Ground Committee. He will be dearly missed.
