Rob (Gork) was one of the best friends that I ever had. I knew him since I was a kid (14 years old) growing up in Ridley Park, PA. We always exchanged just great conversations, and great and fun times. Rob was extremely smart, and when you needed a friend, he was always there. His family was also great, and he touched all of my friends growing up in Ridley. I still am stunned and probably always will be. But I always have his memories firmly implanted to access to always give thanks for being able to know such a great friend or a legend in my life.

Bob was one of my best friends growing up in Ridley Park. Bob and I were in the band at Ridley South Junior High and Ridley High School, graduating in the “Class of 81.” Bob played trombone and I played trumpet. Bob’s nickname was “GORK” because he was so much bigger and taller than the rest of us in middle school. Some of the best times with Bob would be when, after an evening band practice, we would stop at the Ridley Park 7-Eleven or Double Decker Pizza and get food and drinks. We would hang out outside the closed post office and eat food and talk about girls and life and the fact that we did not have any girls in our life.LOL. The marching band and stage band competitions were also a lot of fun and great memories with Bob. I remember having a small party at my house consisting of Bob and another friend Marc Peters who played saxophone in the school band. My parents were in Las Vegas and we drank beer from my dad’s refrigerated beer tap and got a little buzzed. Bob accidentally broke one of my parent’s decorative shot glasses and we could not stop laughing about it. Good Times!!!!! I know this not the typical condolences entry but I have my reasons. I saw Bob in a dream I had this morning after working all night. It prompted me to look him up. That is when I came across his obituary, finding out that he died eight months ago. He was only a few months younger than me. I have not seen or heard from Bob since high school, but I believe he was trying to contact me. It saddens me that Bob has passed at such an early age. I wish I would have known him as an adult. I am not surprised that he graduated from Temple. Bob was one of the smartest guys I knew growing up. He was a very emotional guy from what I recall. I do not know if anyone still accesses this website but I am posting this anyway. Bob, you were always a good guy and great friend growing up. God bless you and your family. Rest in peace buddy.
