DELAWARE — Daniel N. "Dan" Clark, 77, of Delaware, died late Friday night, June 9, 2017 at Willowbrook Christian Village in Delaware.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on Jan. 28, 1940, the son of the late Richard and Lucile (Williams) Clark.
Dan was a lifelong resident of the Delaware area and a 1958 graduate of Olentangy High School. In January, the year after his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Oscoda, Michigan during the Vietnam War.
On Nov. 30, 1963, Dan married Joyce Bishop at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Delaware. Together they raised three independent boys and had made many memories along the way.
Dan was a member at St. Mark's, but as the grandchildren came along he and Joyce also spent Sunday's with them at their church, Kilbourne United Methodist.
He was one of those men that if he wanted to do something he learned how to make it happen. His hobbies included, flower gardening; arts and crafts, specifically spoon art and drawing; cooking: he cooked every Monday at home and most family holidays; woodworking; and writing. Above all, Dan loved fishing! Any trips they'd take to the ocean, Outer Banks, Napels, you could find Dan on a pier fishing.
Dan and Joyce also took trips on his motorcycle. Over the course of their marriage he owned six different motor cycles, the last being a Harley and they'd travel to Niagara Falls and Sturgis just to name a couple.
You cannot write of Dan's life and not talk about his love of family. He cherished holidays together and family vacations.
He will be missed by his wife, Joyce; their sons and spouses, Chris and Gloria of Windsor Locks, Connecticut and Danny and Barbara of Delaware; daughter-in-law, Kara Clark Moore of Delaware; grandchildren, A.J. (Erin), Nate (Cat), Emma, Jordan, Aidan, Chris, Ashley, Mark, Luke (Shallane); great-grandchildren, Chase, Hunner, and Amira; nieces and nephews; many friends; and Haley his Springer Spaniel.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Carey in 2003; brother, David; and sister, Gay Brooking.
Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015. Funeral services will be held there on Wednesday at 11 a.m. followed by military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Kilbourne United Methodist Church, 5591 P.O. Box 8, Kilbourne, OH 43032 or St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 28 E. William St., Delaware, OH 43015.

Joyce, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Just saw the notice as I would have truly been there. The sorrow and emptiness are surely great now but it will lessen in time. Always remember and cherish the great times that can never be taken away. Love you. Colleen
