Roger Parsell Obituary

84, born on Feb. 8, 1929, in Elkhart, IN, and died Sept. 15, 2013, in Englewood, CO. Primarily a Denver resident since 1969 and exclusively since 1981, he earned his Ph.D. at the University of Denver and taught English literature there, at Illinois State University, Metro State and in Michigan, Germany and Australia. Roger had many interests, including a love of reading, baseball, Butler basketball and dogs. Preceded in death by his father, Abijah; mother, Eula; and brother, Stanley. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel; daughter, Portia; son, Reed; son-in-law, Etienne; daughter-in-law, Kari; granddaughters, Joelle, Natacha, Elsa and Prairie; and grandson, Tiago. There will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
