Larry Wright Obituary

WRIGHT, LARRY E. Denver Entrepreneur Larry Wright was born in Troy, OH and passed away in Denver on January 18, 2003. He received his business degree from University of Cincinnati and first worked as a marketing representative of General Foods in NY. Moved to Denver in 1963 where he received his Juris Doctor from D.U. He was counsel for Phillips Petroleum, Great Western Sugar and Vail Associates. Best described as an urban pioneer; Larry redeveloped property in the LoDo and Highland areas. Established The Manhattan Cafe; Ivory's Piano Bar and The Blue Coyote, and re-established Herb's Hideout. Throughout his career he preserved and renovated older Denver homes. Husband of Sabrina; son of Eugene and Juanita Wright of Troy, OH; brother of Diana (William) Voorhees; and uncle of Ashley and Kyle Voorhees of SLC. Visitation, Wednesday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Funeral service, Thursday, 1 p.m., Trinity United Methodist Church, 1820 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Patient Advocates for Advanced Cancer Treatments, Inc., 1143 Paramelee N.W., Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
