James Knight Obituary

James Brian Knight of Aurora, CO passed away peacefully on January 26, 2019 following a long illness. James served honorably in the Armed Forces as an Army Paratrooper and most recently served as an officer in the Colorado Department of Corrections. James was also a Certified Coach with the 1Touch Project, which provides self-defense training for the blind. He is survived by his siblings Kenneth Knight, Deborah Cuddy, and Tammy Mutina as well as his step-father, Wayne Andrews. He was predeceased by his parents, Virginia and Darryl Knight. James is greatly missed by a wide circle of friends. A memorial service will be held on February 23, 2019 at 11:00am at Olinger Hampden Mortuary in Denver, Colorado. James will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the National Federation for the Blind, the National Association of Blind Veterans, or the 1Touch Project.

James was a Board Member of the National Association of Blind Veterans, and member of our Color Guard that presented at the beginning of our Celebrations of Freedom which kicked off the National Association of Blind Veterans National Convention each year. James will be missed by all who knew him and was a proud supporter of the NABV. You can see more about James work at www.nabv.org We pray this HERO will always be in your hearts and minds forever.
