MYERS, FAY
Fay Myers, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 10 at the Boulder County Hospice Center. He will live on in the hearts of those that knew him.
The eighth of nine children, he was born to C.A. (Alex) Myers and Nellie Blythe Myers in 1920 in Bristow, Oklahoma. He met the love of his life, Lillian Parton, in Los Angeles, California in 1941. The couple moved to Colorado in 1942. Fay and Lillian celebrated 66 years of marriage on Aug. 23.
Fay was a well-known businessman in the Denver area; he opened Fay Myers Motor Company in 1948. Also recognized as a fierce competitor in motorcycle racing, he held one of the fastest quarter mile drag racing times in the world. He was an avid outdoorsman; golf, tennis, fishing, off-road motorcycle riding, and cross-country skiing were his passions. He and his wife hiked extensively in the Colorado mountains. His greatest love, though, was for his family.
Fay is survived by his wife, Lillian, his children, Gary Myers, Sherry Yoksh (Dan), Tula Roberge (Ken); his grandchildren, Nellie Hester (Eric), Mark Myers, Ryan Yoksh (Erin Williams), Darin Roberge, Aimee Roberge; his sister, Wanda Scott; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his cherished granddaughter, Kari Yoksh.
For those who wish to join the family in remembering Fay, there will be two open houses from 7:30-10:00 on Tues., April 15 and Wed., April 16 at Crist Mortuary in Boulder. If possible, please wear blue in honor of Fay's favorite color. A private family service will be held at another time.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Colorado Chapter, PO Box 420, Denver, CO 80201-0420. Please read more about Fay's incredible life at mem.com. You may share thoughts, memories and condolences at that site.
