Your father was my cardiologist when I was a little girl. He was always so kind to me and to my family. I was one of the fortunate ones whose heart murmur healed by itself, but I have always been grateful to your father for his knowledge that helped protect me and others.

A friend just phoned and told me of Dr. Blount's death. I was born a blue baby in 1941 and Drs. Blount and Swan diagnosed and corrected my problems during the period of 1952 to 1958. They were indeed pioneers in cardiology and surgery. I spoke with him last year (thanks to his children for giving him the ability to communicate by phone) to personally thank him for his contribution to me being alive and still going strong at almost 70 years old.

My brother Jerry M and Herbert M Jr. were small children when Dr. Blount entered their lives. He made 'normal' lives possible for both & their families. Many thanks Dr. Blount

I loved knowing Gil for the short time I did, as companion to my mom, Katie, over the last few years. I am so sorry to hear of his death, for your loss, yet so grateful for the love he gave her and the contribution he made in the field of cardiology.
