Joanie was my dearest and closest friend when we lived in Denver back in the 70's. I have such great memories of us hangin out at the discos. Even though its been over 40 plus years since I've seen her, I still can't believe she is gone. I do think of her often and miss her.
The last time I saw her was on her wedding day in Chicago. She was as gorgeous as ever. The photo below is of us celebrating my 25th birthday in September 1976 at a disco in Denver.

I will always remember Joan from our years at St. Pat's... I was one year ahead of Joan's class, in Marguerite's class, and will always cherish many happy times together.
May Joan rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with the Alpert/Bransfield family.

My deepest sympathies to the Bransfield & Alpert family.
I was in St. Patrick in Joanie's class from the 8th grade until our graduation in 1970. Unfortunately, that was the last time I saw her.
I will always remember her radiant smile, her fun
spirit and the beautiful person she was inside and out.
Joanie's life may have ended on this earth, but it has only just begun.

Dear Alpert and Bransfield families,
I am so very sorry for your loss. To say Joanie was one of a kind is an understatement. She always did things in a big way, full of style and panache. She will be missed dearly.
Please know that each and everyone of you are in my thoughts and prayers during this very sad time.
Much love,

Joan B, I saw a bird today, but I didn't cry. I thought of you and now will always think of you flying around, making those "emos" cry. Love you so much. You did so much for me, the biggest, bringing Rachel into my life and you will live on through her and everyone else. You haven't gone, but instead just moved to a higher place to watch over us all. All my love.

I have the most wonderful memories of Joanie. Although I haven't seen her since college, she has made an incredible impact on my life. She was one of my best friends at St. Patrick's and we went out to Loretto Heights College in Denver together, where we were roommates. Joanie was a beautiful person who lit up the room when she walked in. I will never forget her. My prayers go out to her family.

To the Alpert Bransfield family.
I send my love and prayers for you all. Joanie was a bright smile and a loving light in my world as I know she was to many. I will remember her always because of this and especially because she made me laugh. I am sure she will continue to be the light and the love , the only difference is now she has her angel wings...most befitting for the beautiful lady she was.

Joanie,
Wow, what can I say. I am at a loss of words. This world has lost one of the most special ladies there is. It is an honor to have been able to call you a friend. There are no words to describe the type of person you are. You have touched many lives and will continue to touch many lives. We love you and will greatly miss you.
Also Joanie, just know we will be there for the entire family and especially Thomas.
To both the Alpert and Bransfield Family, our condolences to all. If there is ANYTHING at all that we can do, please let us know.
With deepest sympathy,
Art & Tula Maniatis
