We have certainly loss a great patriot. I have always enjoyed visiting with him at each of the Northwestern State University ROTC Military Balls. I know that each cadets that came into contact with MG Wise understood that he truly was a a great professional and leader. He will be missed at our Military Ball but will be remembered through the Touchstone Award presented each year to a deserving cadet in his name.

General Wise was a true gentleman. I was fortunate to meet him early during my tenure as Louisiana's State Archivist and quickly learned of his generous contributions to the Louisiana State Archives. In fact, the Research Library of the Louisiana State Archives is named the Marie and Erbon Wise Research Library as a result of this interest in Louisiana history and the generous donation of Louisiana history books by the Wise family to Louisiana's Historical Jewelry Box. Forever grateful.
My deepest sympathy to the family.

Uncle Erbon was a friendly and dignified man. He loved his family, nature, and his country. He was very helpful when my dad died. I appreciate the effort he made to come to my mom’s funeral two years ago. Thanks Eddie for bringing him. I have many fond memories about Uncle Erbon from my childhood. I know all of you have many happy memories, too. He lived a very fulfilling and influential life. My deepest sympathy to you all.
