Doug was the last friend I said goodbye to before getting in the car and moving from the neighborhood. That was more than 25 years ago, but the memory is clear. I remember trading cards and playing baseball with Doug as we grew up together. He bore his crosses with dignity and a good attitude. He will be missed greatly.

I was saddened to hear of Doug's passing. Though we drifted apart as we lived our lives, I will always have the memories of our friendship while growing up together. I really enjoyed playing softball with Doug and even still have my Disasters Softball jersey from the last time we played together. There may be one less great guy here on Earth now, but I know he will be well remembered for all the fun things he did and the great times he spent with everyone. R. I. P. Doug

Dear Brent and Colleen,
We are so sad about the passing of Doug. We remember him when he was a little boy growing up in the neighborhood. He was so cute. Our hearts and prayers are with you.

He was a friendly chatter in a deaf chatroom, I was an admin and got to know him during our time there. I found him to be a very pleasant guy, polite and a gentleman. It was a pleasure to have known him, while he had a hard life, he certainly knew he was loved by his family and friends. Fly free Doug!

Doug was a great friend to chat with. He would often IM me in Facebook and we would chat about anything for hours. He truly loved his family as he would often talk about them and wish that they all got to see each other more often. His favorite things were Mountain Dew, golfing, going to Wendover, and traveling. He had hopes of meeting those of us that he had chatted with. He was a great man and will be sorely missed. My prayers and condolences go out to his family. Even though I never got to meet him in person, I felt like he was a friend.
