Nora Lewis Obituary

Nora Lea Lewis 3/28/1955 ~ 12/29/2008 Nora Lea passed suddenly of a heart condition, with her companion Jennifer at her side. Nora touched many lives with her generous giving heart, and endless service to those she loved. She attended the U of U as a Dance Major, and studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, where she met her life partner, Jennifer Hatch. Nora was a gifted writer, avid bird watcher, and talented chef: whose culinary largess was known by all. President of the Orcas Island Gardening Club, she enjoyed the outdoors. Nora is survived by her sister Cheryl Lewis-Holt (Doug), brother David Blaine Lewis (Janette): nieces, Callie, Cachel (Rupp), Krisina, Jael, Jenna, Symbria (Lewis) and nephew Colton Lewis Rupp. She was greeted on the other side, by her parents Blaine and Bunny Lewis, and brother Mitchell Lewis. Memorial Services will be held at Noon on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 Highland Drive. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Nora was a very special lady. From the day she walked into the job interview, I knew she was someone I wanted to work with and have on my team when times were tough. She was a talented baker and was always there when needed. I depended on her a lot at work and she never let me down. She was my right hand and I miss her. She leaves a hole behind in the lives she touched but we are better for having known her. We will miss her laugh, her sarcasm and her wisdom.

Dear Friends,
Nora was my sister, confidante, rock, support..I will feel the void of her passing, for years to come. It is good to have so many comment on her life and their relationship with her. Nora lived her life with great integrity, and showed all she knew how she respected them. She contributed to so many with her talent and generous spirit.
She was loved. Thank you

I am so sad and sorry to hear of Nora's death. My heart is so full as I remember all the time and "working" years we spent together. No one was better than Nora in the kitchen. She was so inspiring, talented, funny, kind and covered my "butt" many a time, with her calmness, professionalism, sense of humor, and a smile.
Nora always followed her passion and I toast to her here on the beach in Puerto Vallarta hoping we all can find such joy and contentment as Nora did.
My love goes out to you all,
Susan Harries

Cheryl: Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. We read with interest your letter to Wally. We are happy that the family is doing well. Wally shared the news with us and I'm sure that if he was connected to the internet he would be expressing his condolences also. We didn't know your sister but are sure that your heart is aching. We hope that you know we are so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Larry and Chris

On Behalf of my father & mother, Allan & Sally Musgrove, and my 7 brothers and sisters, I would like to offer our condolences and prayers to your family in this time of loss.

Nora made an everlasting impact on our lives, and to this day when my family gets together and reminisces the old days in Salt Lake - we can't help but share stories of Nora...that fun babysitter who put up with the 8 of us kids...

Again, our prayers are with you - God bless.

Jennifer & Lewis family, my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I have wonderful Nora memories: Boating on Lake Powell and the "little sharkey thing"; belly dancing while teaching Julie Lueders the finger cymbals; Tea & Trumpets; pedicure and the Oscars; and my first ever Camp-O-Rama.

Julie is there to guide as your new journey begins. Goddess speed, Nora.

I knew Nora years ago when she worked in an insurance office. She was a sweet spirit then, and you knew life had great things in store for her. Sadly we lost track of each other and life goes on. She will be missed, my thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved her. Goodbye Nil! See you on the other side, and we'll catch up.
