Francis David (Dave) Hennessey

Francis David (Dave) Hennessey 86 of Johnston, IA & McAllen, TX formerly of Marion, IA died Sunday, November 9 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Dave was born in Rowley, IA September 10, 1928. He is survived by his wife of 59 years LaVera; 3 sons: Alan, Ron & Gary, 2 daughters: Cathy (Larry) Palmer & Kelly; 6 grandchildren: Amy (Mike) Miller, Cory & Matt Palmer, Thomas Schakel, Elizabeth & Aaron; 2 great grandchildren: Katelyn & Kylie Miller; 2 brothers: Maurice & Larry (Donna); 5 sisters: Geraldine Welter, Catherine (Gene) DeLucia, Marilyn (Bob) McElligott, Sr. Gwen, Mary June (Jim) McDonald and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Anna; 4 brothers: James, Tom, Jack & Maryknoll Father Ron and 3 sisters: Sr. Dorothy, Sr. Miriam & Monica Kresbach.

A visitation for friends and family will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Rd, Urbandale, from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 12.

Funeral services will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3663 66th St, Urbandale, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13.

Dave's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the VA Central Iowa Health Care and Mercy Hospice.
