Ellen -
Thanks for your reply! My Dad is still living in Ames - as a widower as my Mom & Step-Mom have both passed away.
He keeps busy with his friends at coffee groups, playing cards & other activities. My mother-in-law also lives in Ames. Her husband,my father-in-law, passed away several years ago. They have become great friends & enjoy dinner out every Sunday night. My husband ,Bret, & I live in West Des Moines. We have two children. Our son, Dale, lives in Springfield, MO with wife, Lynnette, 8 moth old son, Owen, as well as Zoe & Watson, two Bernese mountain dogs. Our daughter, Audrey, will be heading to Macedonia September 12 to serve two years in the Peace Corps as a teacher. My brother, Jim, lives in Las Vegas with his wife Jean. He works for Peter Lik, a reknown photographer of amazing nature scenes from around the world. While I have lost a parent, I can't imagine how it feels to lose a sibling. I hope you are able to stay in contact with Steve's family! God Bless You & your Family!

Sending belated condolences to the Crawford family! Steve & Ellen & I grew up together on Hunziker Drive in Ames. Steve & I were in the same graduating class at Ames High. I have fond memories of grades school days playing games in the 'pony pasture' with Dan Sargent & the rest of our neighborhood gang. May many of your cherished family memories bring you comfort in this time of sorrow.

Ellen and family - I wish that I had made the chance to at least meet your brother--another regret I will take with me forever. I do hope that all of your recollections and resulting evoked feelings bring you some comfort--pain, too, of course, but more comfort.
