Marilyn Hazel "Sally" Steinbach

Ankeny

Marilyn "Sally" Steinbach, 76, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born January 5, 1936, in Des Moines to Genevie and Edgar McCartney. Sally graduated from East High School in 1954. Sally was a homemaker and took great pride in her family and home.

Sally is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frank; sons, Robert (Kathy) of Ankeny, Michael of Ankeny, Frank (Lisa) of Granger, and Randy of Bondurant; grandchildren, Austin of Olivehurst, CA, Christina of Ankeny, Jeremy of Ankeny, and Quentin of Granger; great-grandchild, Madilynn of Ankeny; brother, Edward (Nancy) McCartney; and brother-in-law, John Austin. She is preceded in death by her parents, Genevie and Edgar McCartney and her sister, Judith Austin.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 3, 2012, at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave, Des Moines, with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 2, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church Building Fund in loving memory of Sally.

Sally was such a good friend (along with Frank) to my parents, Charles & Millie McKenna. I have fond memories of them laughing and playing cards all those years ago! What a kind, sweet lady.
