Matthew (Matt) Donald Sandblom, 28, of Clive passed away unexpectedly April 12, 2017.

Visitation will be Monday, April 17, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the funeral home.

Matt was born September 26, 1988 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lori (Stover-Sandblom) Anderson and John Sandblom.

Matt graduated from Johnston high school in 2007 and went on to DMACC for his CNA. Matt was a very talented baseball player as a youth. In 2002, during an AAU tournament, Matthew placed 2nd in the Nation for pitching accuracy. He was a sports fan and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and LA Dodgers. Matt worked for Hall Plumbing and was looking forward to starting an apprenticeship in his new career.

Matt is survived by his son, Benjamin Matthew; parents John (Cindy) Sandblom and Lori (Steve) Anderson; brothers, Christopher (Jennifer) Sandblom, Michael Sandblom and Nicholas Adams; grandparents, Don and Peg Stover; step siblings, Amber (Brian) Weger, Andrew (Nicole) Morrow, Addam (Amanda) Morrow, Austin (Brittany) Morrow, Matthew and Jonathon Anderson; the love of his life, Maddison Rinard and her daughter, Cynthia; and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Jane Sandblom.

Matthew was a very kind, caring, witty and fun loving person to be around. He had an extremely close bond with his brothers and enjoyed his special trips to the zoo with Maddison and Cynthia. Matt was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all, including his Bridges of Iowa family.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family in his name for a memorial to be decided at a later date.
