Joseph D. "Joe" Winterman

Joseph D. "Joe" Winterman passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, April 10, 2012, during his 87th year. Service: 2 p.m. Monday in the Beth-El Section of Greenwood Memorial Park with Rabbi Ralph Mecklenburger officiating. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a charity of one's choice, in Joe's memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth at St. Joseph Hospital on July 11, 1924, Joe was the son of Felix and Esther Cohen Winterman. He started working at Security Jewelry Store in downtown Fort Worth at age 16. Joe met the love of his life, Nancy Gresham, in 1942 at Renfro #19 drugstore. They married two years later and raised four beautiful children. He moved his family to Burleson in 1977 where he spent the remaining 35 years of his life. He loved his family, good food and going to the grocery store. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Nancy, Joe is survived by his children, Felix Winterman and wife, Frankie, Felicia Janice Winterman Bounds, Mary Winterman Goldberg and husband, Jerry, and Lena Kay Winterman Baggett; grandchildren, Shawn Winterman and Katie Winterman Westmoreland, Billy Hagler, Lynn Knight, Danny Beck, Bobby Killion, Robyn Killion, Lauren Baggett, Kaitlynn Baggett, Jacklyn Baggett and Samantha Baggett; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
