Patricia Benoit Swift PORT CHESTER, N.Y.--Patricia Benoit Swift, 91, died peacefully in her sleep at home on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018. In 1946, Patricia Benoit, at age 19, came to New York City from Fort Worth, Texas, to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. For three years following her graduation, she acted in summer stock and Off-Broadway productions. Her first appearance on Broadway was in "Glad Tidings," starring Melvin Douglas. She later appeared in "Middle of the Night," starring Edward G. Robinson, "Time Limit," with Arthur Kennedy and Richard Kiley, "The Brass Ring" and a number of other productions. During those years, she also acted on television, including roles in the early days of live television, such as on the "Philco-Goodyear Television Playhouse," "Robert Montgomery Presents," "The Alcoa Hour" and others. Her most notable TV role was as Nancy Remington, the sweetheart and wife of Wally Cox's character on ""Mr. Peepers" for the entire run of the show. Along the way, she had roles intwo soap operas, "As the World Turns" and "Today is Ours," in which she played the leading character. Patricia moved to Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., in 1961 and from 1964 she focused on raising her children, living in Croton for 20 years before moving to Port Chester, N.Y., where she and her husband lived in their retirement. She was a regular matinee theater goer, fifth row center, for many years. She loved seeing actors she had known doing the work they loved. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Parton Swift Jr. and is survived by their sons, Jeremy B. Swift (and wife, Princess) and Nicholas B. Swift (and wife, Lori); three grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael (and wife Allison) and Melissa; two stepgranddaughters, Vidya and Niesha; one great-grandchild, Ella; and her sister, Doris B. Wright of Rochester, N.Y., and her sister's two sons, Andrew L. Wright (and wife, Carolyn Ott) and David R. Wright (and wife, Pamela), and her grandchildren, Dustin and Ashley.

So sorry to hear this and condolences to her loved ones. I once had a lovely long conversation with Patricia on the phone about her time on 'Mr. Peepers.' She was an absolute delight. Just as she was on that show. Bless her heart.

Our family loved Patricia (also my mom's name) in Mr. Peepers,she was adorable.A lifetime ago but captured on the screen for life.
