Robert William "Bob" Grass III

1933 - 2017

Robert "Bob" William Grass III, went peacefully to heaven, on Monday, June 5, 2017, in Arlington, surrounded by many of his loving family. Funeral mass: 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 N. Davis Dr., Arlington. Mass will be followed by a celebration of Life Memorial Service and luncheon at the same location. Burial: His ashes will be interred at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the American Heart Association or the Disabled Veterans of America. Bob was born and raised in Perryville, Mo. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1953, proudly serving his country for 22 years, with two tours in Vietnam. After retiring at the rank of Master Sgt. from Sheppard AFB in 1975, Bob founded A&G Orthodontic Labs, Inc., and provided professional orthodontic appliances to the DFW area for 30 years before turning the business over to his beloved grandson, Jonathan Mills. Bob was an avid boater and fisherman, classic car enthusiast, talented mechanic and craftsman - he could fix or build anything. He loved the lake house he built at Lake Whitney, dancing with his wife, poker nights with his friends (he always seemed to win). His warm smile, wit, and charm were attributes that made him an instant friend to all. He will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katona Grass, sister, Shirley Sailor and parents Robert W. Grass II and Iola Grass. Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Evelyn Yvonne Grass; his brother, Tom Grass, and his cousin and lifelong friend, Mick Michaud. "Daddy Bob" was a loving father to seven children, Robert (Grass) Sheffield, David Grass, Michael Arth, Michele Fitzgerald, Gregory Arth, Lisa Riell, David Arth and Renee Hamilton. He adored his 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
