I moved to the DFW area in 2005 and the very first place I lived was in Arlington ..... that was my first taste of Texas ... so Thank You Sir for building such a great city.

SJ was such a kind and gentle human being. He had a spirit of generosity toward other people and their failings. For anyone who was paying attention, he modeled a better, wiser way to look, think and behave. The world is a better place because he lived.

SJ Stovall set the standard for public service. He was a man of wisdom, effectiveness, vision, commitment and honor. This city and this region are the better for his having willingly stepped into the public arena and remaining there for so long.

Please accept our sincere sympathy for the passing of Mr. Stoval.
He was a tremedous a asset to Arlington and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
I had the pleasure of working with him on various projects while employed at Schrickel, Rollins and Associates.
Mr. Stoval was of that generation that produced men and women of character.

SJ was a man of character, a dedicated public servant, and a true man of faith. He had a way of making everyone around him feel better. I loved to listen to his stories, and his smile had a way of brightening a room. He was truly special.
