My condolences to Wendell's family and friends, especially his sister, Debbie, who was a much-admired classmate of mine at South HS. You're were blessed to have such a good man as your older brother. I hope that will comfort you when you can't just pick up the phone to talk to him.

Wendell was a kind classmate at MVNC. I remember loading up in a car and driving to the big city of Columbus, quite an experience for this rural boy! Til we meet again!

On behalf of the class of 1972 of Mount Vernon Nazarene College, I express our sympathy and prayers to the family of Wendell Towns, our classmate and friend. Everyone looked up to Wendell! He was our superstar on the basketball court and our smiling friend on campus. I was his RA in the dorm our sophomore year, and he was actually a model resident. I am not surprised he served honorably as a Columbus police officer. God bless his memory and God bless those who will miss him so much.

Wendell was a legand at Mount Vernon Nazarene College. Among my greatest joys was watching him lead the Cougars basketball in the third and fourth year of the school. After a close lose at the Asbury tournament he pledged to bring home the trophy the following year. He kept that promise and it was the first tournement trophy in the schools history. He was always a hero to me and i respected him greatly for his service as a police officer. Was planning to try to get him to attend the schools 50th year reunion this Fall. May God richly bless and protect his family.
