My condolences to Wendell's family and friends, especially his sister, Debbie, who was a much-admired classmate of mine at South HS. You're were blessed to have such a good man as your older brother. I hope that will comfort you when you can't just pick up the phone to talk to him.

Wendell was a kind classmate at MVNC. I remember loading up in a car and driving to the big city of Columbus, quite an experience for this rural boy! Til we meet again!

So so sorry to read this...Wendell was a friend in our neighborhood in Delaware, Ohio.... He was a very kind man. He was so looking forward to having his sister living close by......Rest Well My Friend, Until we meet again...

On behalf of the class of 1972 of Mount Vernon Nazarene College, I express our sympathy and prayers to the family of Wendell Towns, our classmate and friend. Everyone looked up to Wendell! He was our superstar on the basketball court and our smiling friend on campus. I was his RA in the dorm our sophomore year, and he was actually a model resident. I am not surprised he served honorably as a Columbus police officer. God bless his memory and God bless those who will miss him so much.
