Betsy, Sam, and Katy:
It was with sadness that we learned about Dan's passing. He was a great friend and neighbor. I was miss our front porch conversations we had.

Coach Sebastian (we called him "Sabby")coached my sister and I on the UA High School girls tennis team in the early 1980's. He was a great coach and we were all very fond of him. His teasing sense of humor made the whole tennis experience fun. He kept our team humble as he reminded us of how lucky we were to live in Upper Arlington. And he motivated us all to win several state team championships while we were there! Thank you, Sabby for all your hard work in coaching the girl's tennis team and for all the fond memories. We will never forget you or the wonderful experience you gave us. Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am so saddened to hear of Coach Sebastian's passing. I was traveling the past several days for work and I'm disappointed I was out of town for his service. He was such a great coach and I remember him so fondly. He guided us to grow and mature not only as tennis players, but as young adults as well. I couldn't have played for OSU without him. Rest in peach, Coach. In heaven, it will always be love/love. Missy Wojta Weiss

Coach Sebastian was one of the influential people in my life. He pushed us hard, was a fair man and demanded greatness from my teammates and I and we always played our hearts out for him, because he believed we were capable of producing our best. He was a true coaching tennis legend and I my condolences go out to Katy and the Sebastian family. Thank you Coach, we love you dearly and know you are in a better place now.
I will never forget you. -J.R. Pepino

Over the last few days, a number of Golden Bears from the class of 1981 shared the news of Coach Sebastian's passing via text. We loved him as a coach and we know he had a positive influence on our lives. Although we liked him at age 16, we appreciate him at age 56. He wanted to teach and coach and what a gift he gave us to have such a positive influence on our lives. Thanks Coach, for caring and giving us so much that we could build upon in our lives.

Coach Sebastian, or "Seabass" as we always called him, was truly one of a kind. It was an honor to call him coach and he helped me and hundreds of other kids strive for greatness both on and off the tennis court.
I'll enjoy a pretzel rod this weekend in his honor.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Sebastian family. We'll miss you, coach!
