Dr. Phil was the first professor I really looked up to and was one who helped me believe I could pursue engineering during my tumultuous first semester. The afternoon I spent in his office nervously discussing my struggles and the calm reassurance he gave in response is a treasured memory. His endless encouragement, even including printing my robot team's business cards, was one of the best parts of my first year.

Phil was a fellow Theta Chi. I remember him as a man with so many varied interests and fields of expertise. He already had his BS degree when I first met him, but his interest and support in the fraternity was very strong.

I wish I could've told him thank you for helping me back in 1181. He helped me understand MatLab and always took the time to help even after class.
I will always remember him as a kind and generous professor who strived to make the next generation of engineers be prepared for what ever came next in our programs.
Thank you for everything professor.
We will miss you.

Dr. Phil Schlosser was my professor my first year of engineering at Ohio State University in 2017. He was an excellent teacher, dedicated to helping every single student as much as possible. He was always kind and thoughtful, listening to every student and always being easy to just go up and talk to him. He would never hesitate to help a student with a problem, and would always do it with a smile on his face. If not for him, I maybe wouldn't enjoy engineering as much as I do now, so I will forever owe him for that. My condolences to his family, he was a truly great man.

I remember being a freshman and taking my first Engineering 1181 class with Dr. Phil. He was a great professor and made the class far more enjoyable to be a part of. He made me think out of the box and allowed me to orient myself to think like an engineer. He will be greatly missed.

He was one of the sweetest professors I had. When I went to his office hours to address I concern I had, he helped me out a lot. He's a great man. Sad to see him go so soon.

Phil was an outstanding faculty member of the College of Engineering and a major contributor to the First-Year Engineering Program. His ideas, creativity, mentoring, teaching, and enthusiasm influenced the career paths of thousands of students. The world is a better place because of Phil and he will be sorely missed.

Dr. Phil was one of the first professors I had at OSU, but he was THE first professor I had the pleasure of getting to know as a mentor and friend. Dr. Phil always took the time to explain things to me and went out of his way to say hello to me every morning. This continued until the day I graduated, between just seeing him in the halls or working with him when I was a UTA. He was a great man, mentor, and friend and I will miss him dearly. God bless.

Phil "A." Schlosser was our fraternity's (Theta Chi) adviser during my time at The Ohio State University ['69~'74]. Reflecting back, we all admired Phil as the mature person at parties. He would never share his middle name with us. Phil will be remembered as a true friend of mine!

Dr. Phil was one of the great professors that I worked with in Engineering 1182. He was very friendly and professional. He even remembered my name 4 to 5 years later after that class. He will be truly missed. My condolences go out to Dr. Phil's family.
