O'BANNON Melvin Lee O'Bannon, "Pee-Wee", age 74, passed away January 18, 2009. Worked many years in construction and was a member of New Hope Pentecostal Church. Survived by wife, Florence; children, Melvin O'Bannon Jr., Shelia O'Bannon, Annette O'Bannon, Connie Coleman; step-children, Thomas Wooden, Sierra Winston, Latasha McGhee; sisters, Emma McCrory, Mary Griffin, Pearly Gwen, Norma O'Bannon, Maxine Bermudez, and Lillian Traylor; best friend, William "Bill" Harris; a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Service 10 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the start of service.
