Truthfully, I stumbled across Shawns obituary while searching for his phone number after changing phones. Although we hadn´t stayed in contact as we probably should of the last 15 years, my heart was crushed to hear of this news. We enjoyed so many adventures together over several decades. Having recently retired, I´d hoped to reconnect with him hoping to add to our list of memories. I will miss him dearly. Condolences to his family and many friends.

Having worked with Shawn for almost 25 years, what immediately comes to mind was his sense of humor and that he was universally liked by everyone that knew him. He well was known from Texas to Washington St. for the barbecues that he would prepare for entire staffs at every single project.
We will all miss you Shawn,
Gerry

Family of Shawn Steele,
My condolences go out to Shawn's family and all the loved ones he has touched. The Grass Roots had a 1967 hit song titled "Live for Today" and feel this song describes Shawn to the tee.....I will always remember Shawn on many raft trips with that great big smile from cheek to cheek and he never said a bad word about anyone. He is the type of guy who would share is last beer and then put his arm around you. Shawn was a die-hard Harley rider and he bought is second new Hog and threw me the keys and said let me know and I ended up giving rides to everyone at the party. Shawn will be missed and sorry I will not be able to attend his funeral but I will have him in my heart and will say a prayer.
RIP - SHAWN STEELE
Sincerely,
Roy Oxenrider, Las Vegas

We will cherish our great memories of Shawn, especially pontooning on Buckeye Lake. We enjoyed all the vegetables we received from his huge garden. He frequently sent chili and other delicious dishes he was so fond of cooking. Shawn was a wonderful, generous friend and will be deeply missed. Our sincere sympathy to his brother, Doc, and family.
