Dear DePaso family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Ric's passing, but encouraged to hear that he will spend a glorious eternity with our wonderful Lord! I pray that you will also find great peace and comfort in knowing that, and in knowing that it is also possible to join him one day, through faith in Christ's substitute for our punishment. I'm so thankful that God got a hold of me, and wouldn't let me go. I am so thankful to know that many in your family have also taken that glorious path. I used to hang out with Ric in High School and haven't seen him in many years. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. When I am missing a loved one, I will ask God to tell them that I say "Hi, and that I love them". I believe very much that our loving Heavenly father will do that for us. It really helps me to know that we still can be in touch until we meet again in Heaven. May you feel the strong loving arms of Jesus holding you during this difficult time and always. I share in your sorrow.

Please know that you all will be in the thoughts and prayers of many in the youth group. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help during this time and beyond. Much love, many prayers.

Sandy, our family would like you to know that our Thoughts and Prayers are with everyone who had the privileged to know Ric. We are deeply saddened with the news of Ric passing. We often think about your family and all of the joy and happiness our family shared over so many years. Ric and I had a very special relationship and we will miss him dearly. We remember so many good times with Ric and your Family which will help our Family to mourn the loss a very close cousin and friend Ric. We are confident he is with our Lord and Savior and without pain from today forward. We will continue to pray for all of you over the coming days for healing. God Bless, Tim McFadden (cousin California)

Dan, and family - my condolences - I am so sorry. Ric is ultimately in God's hands now, perhaps this was the best way God could do for Ric, what he could not do for himself. Prayers for you finding some comfort in knowing Ric is at peace.

Dearest Sandy, You don't remember me, I'm sure, but my name is Vicki (Roman) McCullouch. I have 7 children and 3 of them have suffered terribly with addictions. In fact one of my boys had spoken with Dan a few years ago trying to get help. At this time they are all clean and doing well, but I pray constantly for them knowing that they could fall at any time. I never knew Ric personally, but I had heard about him, because I am friends with Debbie and Dave. (We went to the same church for years.) I have cried and cried over your son, because it was so very close to home. I was pretty sure that my boys were going to end up of an overdose. In fact my youngest (who has been clean for over a year) told me that the last time he did drugs, his heart was pounding so hard that he was sure he was going to die. I am so sorry for your loss and how hard Ric tried,it makes my mothers heart ache for you. I love what the entry from Pam Taylor said about what her mother said, "if love could have fixed it, we wouldn't be here" because we love these children with everything we have, don't we? You were a wonderful mother to him, I know you were and I know he loved you and wanted so much to please you. Now he's perfect!

you couldnt grow up in Worthington without knowing & loving all the DePaso kids.
While time & miles seperated us- I will always treasure Ric in my heart & all the good he did while on this earth in helping others.
I have no doubt Ric will continue to help others, he's just doing it from a different place now.

As said by my mother at my own daughter's funeral "if love could have fixed it, we wouldnt be here"
My Kelli passed from this same disease. I'd like to think Kell was there waiting to show Ric around the new place.

sending much love & extra hugs

To Courtney and Chase, Your father loved you very very much. I haven't seen you guys in a while, but I remember you from coming to the club with him, and Chase, I think you will remember when I see you. I am so very sorry for your loss.
To the rest of the family, I am sorry that you lost him at such a 'young' age but please know that he helped more people than i could even begin to tell you. He was truly a gift to many of us. I know he is with his Savior and his battle and pain are done. We will miss him terribly.
