Steven Wayne Hess

HESS Steven Wayne Hess, of Columbus, formerly of Urbana, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in his residence. He was born July 19, 1959 in Urbana a son of Frank J. and LaDonna (Shonkwiler) Hess. Steven was a 1977 Graham High School graduate, attended The Ohio State University, worked the last 15 years as Sr. Production Operator for G.F.S. Chemicals in Columbus, was an avid reader of history and science fiction and enjoyed traveling particularly to the South Jersey shore. Steven was devoted to his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Kristine Anne (Lelakus) Hess; parents; brothers, Scott E. (Sheila) Hess of Canton, OH, and Stuart J. (Cheryl) Hess of Urbana; nephews and niece, Ethan Hess, Eric Hess, Graham Hess, Sara Hess, Eric Angello, Brian Angello, Tony Lilienthal and Andrew Lilienthal; dear friends, David A. Hairston and his parents, Mary Ellen and David Hairston, Beth and Bill Lucas and Rosemarie Conway, all of Columbus; and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Angello, of NJ and Marianne (Rick) Lilienthal of Cambridge, OH. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents and brother-in-law James Angello. Special thank you to Mt. Carmel Hospice especially, Tom Sanders, R.N. and Jeanette Dobrich, LISW. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana, OH, where funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 with Rev. Michael L. Poole, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
