Thomas Northrup Obituary

NORTHRUP Thomas Allen Northrup I, age 66, passed away April 9, 2012. He was born December 15, 1945, and grew up in Montpelier, OH. He was the valedictorian of the class of 1963 at Montpelier High School and went on to graduate from Case Western Reserve in 1967 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his career with General Electric Corporation, working with the US Navy on missile guidance systems. He went on to pursue a career in computer hardware design with Digital Equipment Corporation and Data General Corporation, as well as Rochester Instrument Systems. He obtained 3 patents for his design work. Tom will be fondly remembered by his friends and family for his keen wit and his ability to "fix anything". He enjoyed boating, waterskiing and woodworking. He never met a project he couldn't finish. He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Kate and brother Terry. Tom is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Cynthia; children, Tom (Rayna) Northrup II and Emmy (Brad) Bedford; siblings, Nancy (Chris) Conti, Judy (Jack) Steckley and Lori (Mike) Bailey; grand-children, Jamie, Carter, Kathy, Evan and Lilly.
