June McCoy Obituary

McCoy June C. McCoy, age 96, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 under the loving care of her family. She was born in Livonia, New York on January 26, 1919 to the late James Covell and Edith May Burdick Ferris. She also joins her loving husband, Dr. William H. McCoy, DDS. June's earlier career was as a Medical Records Librarian at The Ohio State University. It was there, at a sandwich shop on campus, that she met Bill McCoy, a dental student with the University. Seven months later, on September 27, 1946, June and Bill were married at the Grand Southern Hotel. The following day, they spent their honeymoon on C Deck to watch a Buckeye football game. They enjoyed 69 years together, and had a loving family. Their children include: Sherry McCoy, Randy (Dawn) McCoy, Bill McCoy, Wendy (Donnie) McGeehan, Les (Nancy) McCoy and Marcia McCoy. She is survived by 11 grandchildren Nicole, Brandie, Tina (Mike), Jordan (Sarah), Nathan (Jessica), Jennifer (Brian) Ryan (Tiffany), Scott, Patience (Eric) Koby and Kory; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Evelyn (James) Holmblad; many nieces and nephews and their families. June was a dedicated volunteer, with 49 years of service at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Her time was spent assisting visitors and staff at the information desk. While there, she received Gold Member Status and a Presidential Award for her 14, 426 hours of service. June enjoyed her time outdoors, traveling in their RV, gardening, and was an avid Buckeye fan. The family would like to thank Becky Beaver for her devoted care. Arrangements have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to The Columbus Cancer Clinic, 1699 West Mound Street, Columbus, OH 43223, in her memory. Words will never describe - the way u made me feel inside..always putting my needs above your own..not only mine but everyone you knew..then came the day, that God called you home- In my heart I know that you will always be with me - you taught me exactly what a strong loving woman and mother should be..always led by example..never looking down on or scolding me..the definition of true love even when my decisions weren't what you would have wanted them to be - l love you so much and no matter how much this is hurting me..you're lucky grand daughter I will always be - ...for now it may be time to say Goodbye.. tho being a part of you fills me with so much pride...Looking forward to the day we meet again..My Grandma ..My forever friend...for now going to try to be ..Even Half Of the woman you So lovingly taught Me To be.. Grandma , I will love you with all of my being for eternity ..Thank you for being so wonderful to me ♡X♡X♡
