Janet E. Patton

PATTON Janet E. Patton, age 89, of Upper Arlington and Sarasota, FL, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at her home. She attended Smith College and Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School, and served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was an active volunteer for numerous charitable organizations including the Columbus Museum of Art and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Janet was a member of First Community Church, Scioto Country Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was a world traveler and avid reader and bridge player. She was a dog lover, sharing her life with Inkie, Nikki, Nikki, and Penny (who survives her). Her husbands, David H. Livingston and Robert M. Patton, and daughter, Janie Sachs, precede her in death. She is survived by her children, David Livingston, Diane (Robert) Bruce, and John (Jodi) Patton; grandchildren, Maxwell and Alexis Jane Bruce, and Johnny and Jessica Patton; life partner, Dale Thorpe. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006 at First Community Church, Burkhart Chapel, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., where friends will be received following the service. Private interment at Green Lawn Cemetery, with arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road.
