Jennifer Correll Obituary

"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget."

Jennifer A. (Patee) Correll, 41, of Burleson, TX, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. She was born September 23, 1973, in Dodge City the daughter of Greg and Carla (Hill) Patee.

Jennifer married Donnie Clare in 1996 and they were blessed with two sons; Taylor and Brayden who were her greatest joy. Although later divorced, Donnie was always there for Jennifer.

She attended Dodge City schools, Dodge City Community College and graduated from Friends University in 2010. She lived and worked in Dodge City most of her life, moving to Wichita, KS and recently to Burleson, TX.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Greg and Carla Patee of Dodge City; son Taylor Clare and fiancé Rebecca Lazelle of Dodge City; son Brayden Clare of Dodge City; and one brother Aaron Patee and wife, Miracle of Spearville. She is also survived by one niece, Kaylee Patee, and three nephews, Elijah, Brian and Ethen Patee all of Spearville; two aunts Judy Hill of Dodge City; Janet Fincham of Meade; and Donnie Clare of Dodge City.

There will be no public visitation as she was a Willed Body Program donor at UT Southwestern and cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jennifer Correll Memorial Fund in care of Landmark Bank, 2500 N. 14th, Dodge City.

My dearest Jennifer,
As the time ticks slowly by without you by my side, it saddens me to know I will never hear you laugh again; I will never get to see you smile again; I will never get to hold you again. You were one of a kind, magical in your own ways! May God hold you in his embrace and love you.

After reading the respectful messages on this site, it's clear that my niece, Jennifer, had a very positive influence on those who knew her. So tragic that she died so young.

What I remember about Jennifer: she was SMART, and she was ruthlessly funny. Even when we were so young, she was scathingly funny, outrageous. I never knew what she would say next; it was such great fun following her around. I am so very sorry for your loss.
