GROVELAND — Alfred "Freddie" DiBiaso, 89, of Groveland passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 at the Seaview Retreat in Rowley.

He was born in Groveland on Feb. 8, 1918, son of the late Giuseppe and Assunta (Pricolo) DiBiaso.

He was a graduate of Groveland public schools and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. DiBiaso was a self employed display director for many years and was also employed by Ann and Hope, Danvers.

"Freddie" as he was known to his friends, had quick wit and loved being surrounded by his family. A master craftsman, he spent many hours painting and was also an avid gardener.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (Dielendick) DiBiaso of Groveland; son, Alfred J. DiBiaso of Amesbury; daughters, Victoria M. and her husband Steve Allison of Merrimac and Maria T. and her husband Larry Shafer of Windsor, Ill.; grandchildren, Bob and Becky Shafer and Kate and Stephen Allison; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Mary Russo, Frank DiBiaso, Rocco Besso, John DiBiaso and Benjamin DiBiaso.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Friday Dec. 28, at 9:30 a.m. from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 at St. Patrick's Church, So. Groveland. Burial with military honors will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Groveland. Calling hours at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Groveland Council on Aging, 183 Main St., Groveland, MA 01834.
